In 2015, I became very ill. With both wrists shattered and Urticaria from head to under my feet, I had to find a better way.

 

I quickly became aware of the importance of probiotics, gut health and clean products. Studying healing ingredients found in nature, became a priority. Staying away from store bought foods, I revisited old recipes I loved, and began experimenting with probiotic foods.

My yogurt balls immersed in olive oil and herbs became a favorite at gatherings. With the change in diet, my health improved, and I realized that the food I ate, along with the products I used were important to my well-being.

In 2016 I founded Mayuur Naturals, a skin care company focused on organic and chemical-free body products. In 2018, after much prodding by friends, I decided to take that experience and apply it to the food business to bring a healthy snack to the table, and YogiBalls was born.

 

In 2022, we changed our name to Pariva, to align more closely with our mission. “Pariva” is extracted from a Hindi word that means “Transformation.”

I am passionate about wanting to change what I see everyday, of so many locked in a never-ending cycle that becomes generational. Those who pay their debts should be able to live free and improve their lives and that of their families. As we grow, we hope to serve people by offering employment opportunities to those who have been marginalized by society. To give them real hope and a true second chance to ensure that their past transgressions aren’t how they are forever defined.

Coincidentally, “Parivar” (with an "r") means family in Hindi; a happy coincidence because of another aspect of what I try to do – bring food to my food family with the same high quality uncompromising ingredients that I use to feed my own family. In support of that mission, we set out to demonstrate that healthier foods can, and should, also taste great. People don’t need to compromise on flavor to enjoy the benefits of better choices.

Our products made for our food family, are inspired by the love of hosting gatherings of friends, are made with the best possible ingredients and a lot of care. They are snackable and shareable as premium quality, better-for-you, refrigerated hors d’oeuvres and appetizers.
